Driving Danger

Texting has grown significantly over the past few years, and the more popular it gets, the more people slip into the habit of texting while driving. Though portrayed in a somewhat humorous light in the picture above, texting and driving can be quite dangerous, even fatal. Not only does it present possible physical repercussions for you, your passengers, and other drivers, a wreck or ticket could have some financial repercussions on your Florida car insurance policy as well.

According to a report by the National Safety Council, 28 percent of car accidents are caused by talking or texting while driving. Some studies have suggested that texting or talking on a cell phone while driving is worse than driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, because your mind is preoccupied with a conversation (intellicorp.net). In states such as Utah, it is actually punished at the same level of drunk-driving (usinsuranceonline.com). Florida does not yet have any laws against texting and driving, but the mere fact of increased accident risk should make you question engaging in such activity.
