It’s time for school to start back and for some it is the beginning of senior year. For parents senior year is full of many expenses. Between grad night, senior trips, ordering the cap and gown, and senior prom, it is easy to forget how important senior pictures are. Senior pictures are a way to remember your senior at this important time of life. Because of their importance, it is smart to look around at local photographers and find the right one for your graduate. Here are a couple of our suggested photographers:

When it comes to getting your picture taken, there are several things you should remember to make sure you are happy with your photos. When it comes to what to wear, make sure to bring several simple outfits. If you bring clothes that are covered with prints and bright colors, you may not be the focus of the pictures. For girls, make sure to do your makeup like you normally do, because you want to look like yourself. For guys, make sure your facial hair is neat or shaved.
When it comes to poses, make sure your positions show movement and remember to stay natural. Stay looking relaxed by keeping your arms slightly bent, shifting your weight to one side when you’re standing, and remembering to keep good posture. You may want to bring props such as your instrument or sports attire to make your photos reflect your high school experience.
With the economy and the expenses that accompany senior year, you may choose to take your own senior pictures. With digital cameras and easy photo-editing programs, you can take great senior pictures at home. When having a friend or family member take your pictures, you may find the perfect backdrop outside at a local park, lake, or railroad track. When taking pictures inside, you may struggle with the lighting. You might want to open windows or doors to bring in natural light.
