Significant Seat Belt Statistics:

This year, one out of five drivers will get into a car accident. Because there is no way to know if you will be the one, why not prepare yourself? Statistics show that serious injuries are 50% and fatalities are 60-70% less likely to occur when seatbelts are used properly.

Not only does wearing your seatbelt protect you personally, but it also is capable of protecting your fellow passengers. Even if a child is properly strapped in, it does not mean they are invincible. A common cause of death for children when it comes to car accidents is being crushed by an adult who is not wearing a seatbelt.

According to statistics, 9 out of 10 people will buckle up when asked. So, next time you are in the car with a loved one who doesn’t particularly care for this law, try asking them to put on their seat belt. More often than not, you will be pleasantly surprised at their response.
